On this page, you can read and download all our legal and policy documents including our constitution, equal opportunities policy and safeguarding policy. These documents were last reviewed at the BLSO AGM on 6th February 2021 and approved by the trustees. We welcome any comments or suggestions on how we could improve our policies. If you would like to get in touch about any of the below or have a complaint regarding a breach of any of these policies, please email enquiries@bluelightsymphony.org. More information about charity governance can be found on the Charity Commission website.
BLSO constitution
This is our governing document and sets out our charitable objects, or aims. These are the cornerstone of the charity and explain in a few short sentences what it is that we are trying to achieve. It also sets out how we run the charity and make decisions, as well as listing our trustees.
Safeguarding Policy
This policy sets out how we safeguard vulnerable adults and children. We want everyone who takes part in our events to feel safe and have confidence in us to deal with any issues quickly and effectively.
Equal Opportunities Policy
We welcome anyone to take part in our events, subject to our participation criteria and do not tolerate any forms of discrimination.
Data Protection and Privacy Policy
We are committed to handling data ethically and legally. We will only use your data for the purposes stated and will never share it with a third party without your consent.
Health and Safety Policy
We take everyone's health and safety seriously and will always take steps to minimise the risks associated with our activities.
Participation in workshops and events
We welcome applications from anyone to participate in our workshops but priority is given to those who are current or former UK emergency services personnel, whether employed or volunteer, including civilian staff, and their immediate families. If you are not then we may give your place to someone who is, up to 4 weeks before the event.
